The Head of Business Services is the Senior Leader for finance, sourcing, lease administration, communications, and risk & control for the account. This role is the primary client-facing leader providing strategic direction. The Director will meaningfully contribute to the business strategy and direction, anticipate key issues and informational needs, and be prepared to discuss ongoing performance and key projects for the assigned account. The leader will oversee the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities. The position will report directly to the Account Operations Executive.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute on strategy for direct oversight of Accounting and Finance function.
- Provide superior client service through providing objective recommendations.
- Accountable for performance and results of related disciplines within Finance and Accounting, and Client Financials.
- Provide strategic vision for all financial aspects of business including best practices and innovation.
- Strategic thought leader keenly focused on finance governance and partnering with leadership to drive growth.
- Identify risks and opportunities to management and recommend strategies to achieve company goals.
- Executes unit strategy through team and contributes to the development of unit strategy.
- Ensure consistent weekly communication of results, forecasts and action plans to executive management and a cross-functional team of department heads.
- Work closely with HR to track internal and external bench, assess needs and fit, and manage HR requests such as Performance Management, Talent Review, Promotions, and other corporate talent development initiatives.
- Provide superior employee management.
- Establish defined career paths for teams, and succession and growth planning concepts.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 10-15 years of progressively responsible experience
- 10 years of supervisory experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills including financial, scope, schedule, estimating and budgeting with an ability to balance with business acumen and strategy.
- Experience managing preparation of financial statements, including oversight over complex accounting processes
- Excellent client influence and presentation skills – ability to tell the end to end financial story, inclusive of Capital Planning
- Strong manager; care for and support staff; developing great new managers
- Detailed oriented and strong organizational skills
- Ability to clearly state the vision of the department and our clients and then successfully translate that vision into executable steps
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Audit and SOX compliance are a plus
Working Environment:
- The team is embedded with the Client at the Client’s facility in Charlotte, NC.
- Position will require periodic travel to regional offices as necessary.
Minimum Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Accounting or Finance
- MBA preferred
- CPA Preferred
