Duties
- Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary.
- Sets up food service counters and steam tables with hot and cold foods and beverages.
- Serves food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
- Present bills and receive payment.

- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, Chapter 2.
- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
- Frequently lifts and moves items weighing up to 40.
- Requires constantly standing, stooping, bending, walking and reaching.
- Work is normally performed inside with adequate lighting and heat.
- Care is required to avoid serious injury in food preparation and storage areas.
Qualifications
- Must meet state/local age (21) requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverages at the time of appointment.
- Be able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds.
- Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
- Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and/or nonalcoholic beverages.
- Able to work alone.
- Know the proper use of special cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Know simple food handling techniques.
- Able to work safely.
- Able to serve uniform individual portions and avoid distractions when several guests ask for different items at the same time.
- Able to use simple arithmetic.

- This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
- All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
- Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
- Incentives may be paid but are not guaranteed.
- Up to 25% recruitment and/or retention incentive may be authorized for positions offering at least a guarantee of 10 hours per week.
