Duties
- Knowledge of commonly used rules, procedures, and operations pertaining to the basic safety and security of the assigned area and the people, facility, and equipment within the area of responsibility
- Performs minor grounds maintenance to include ensuring entrances and exits are free from debris, sidewalks are clear, and surfaces are maintained according to safety requirements.
- As a driver exerts physical effort in reaching, bending, turning, or moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate hand and foot controls.
- Work assignments require walking on a variety of surfaces, climbing, kneeling, stooping, pulling, pushing, standing, twisting, and sitting.
- Duties require the use of trade practices associated with landscaping and painting as well as work involving motor vehicle operations.
- Incumbent performs a variety of tasks involving the maintenance and minor repairs of buildings and associated equipment.
- Performs grass-cutting requirements using riding lawn mowers / garden tractors (from 18HP to 31 HP), push mowers, edgers, chainsaws, blowers, weed-eaters, pruners, etc.
- Monitors access to the facility and grounds to ensure security is maintained
- Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
- Incumbent is required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation.
- A health assessment is required. Selected applicant must be able to pass a Medical Physical Examination.
- Possession of a valid driver's license to operate assigned government vehicles.
- The employee must maintain a current driver’s license while in this job.
- This position requires mandatory drug testing
- Must be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds and, occasionally heavier items with assistance.

1. High School Diploma
2. Ability to communicate in English at a level to assure the duties described can be accomplished in a safe and satisfactory manner.
3. Demonstrated skills in successfully operating standard tools.
4. Experience in accomplishing the types of duties described in this job.
