What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Handler (Motor Vehicle Operator) NA-07 position at US Army Installation Management Command?
Duties
- Operates a gasoline or diesel powered vehicles with gross weight of not more than 26,000 pounds.
- Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks and carts, either gasoline or electrically powered, on a daily basis while receiving incoming shipments or items.
- Assembles items, grouping material according to receiving vouchers and, as necessary, into sub-groups based on property class, condition, and type of transaction.
- As indicated, route items not requiring inspection to proper storage area or designation, and items to be reshipped, repacked, or crated. Signs shipping and receiving reports.
- Assembles items for shipping according to information on receiving vouchers. Checks condition of shipping containers prior to loading and ensure shipments are loaded into proper conveyances.
- Conducts warehouse inventories, and maintains tally listings during the count. Duties are performed independently and seeks guidance and assistance on unusual and complicated situations. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Warehousing work is done inside and outside. The incumbent may work inside areas that are hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted. The incumbent may work in bad weather in such outside areas as open docks and storage yards.
- The work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. The incumbent is frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises; falls from ladders, or injury from mechanical conveyer systems or other materials handling equipment.
- Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a certificate of medical examination and a Tier 1 background investigation.
Qualifications
Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision, and the ability to interpret instructions and specifications.
Position requires the incumbent to possess a valid Driver's License, and the ability to obtain a Government License.

- This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
- All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
- Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
- Incentives will not be paid.
