Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Positions Designated as DoD Sexual Assault Program Workforce Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position : This position is with the 81st Readiness Division, Office of the Commanding General, located at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. Responsibilities Monitor compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Army (DA) SHARP policies and directives to ensure program compliance. Implement comprehensive sexual harassment / assault prevention programs designed to prevent or lessen the impact of harmful behaviors. Evaluate prevention programs and efforts to assess the effectiveness in reducing incidents of sexual harassment and sexual assault. Conduct data analysis that summarizes trends, incidences, and outcomes within the community to support methods and techniques for the prevention of sexual harassment and sexual assault. Apply current research and evaluation findings to make data-informed updates to training materials regarding sexual harassment and sexual assault prevention. Continually assess the SHARP Prevention Program initiatives, execution, and development of advanced plans to ensure timely introduction of new concepts into the SHARP Program. Collaborate with prevention professionals of other disciplines (i.e., FAP, ASAP, etc.) to build, refine, maintain, and execute core functions of an integrated prevention system. Present recommendations and conclusions with commanders to ensure efficiency in the execution of the SHARP Program prevention capabilities. Promote prevention activities and approaches designed to foster individual, group, and organizational health and performance to reduce and prevent sexual harassment and sexual assault. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply : US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and / or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. QUALIFICATIONS : This position has a basic requirement that you must meet in addition to the experience required below. The basic requirement is as follows : Basic Requirement : A. Degree : Successful completion of a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or a degree in a related discipline appropriate to the position, such as Psychology or Sociology. Combination of education and experience : that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. (Transcripts required) OR C. Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In order to qualify for this position, you must also meet the Specialized experience : Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes planning, implementing, and evaluating prevention activities pertaining to sexual harassment / sexual assault; conduct risk assessments and identify the need for sexual harassment / sexual assault prevention training required for the organization; provide recommendations to enhance readiness across numerous organizations concerning the prevention of sexual harassment and assault; and monitor program compliance with sexual harassment / sexual assault policies and guidelines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade / level position in the federal service (GS-11). Education FOREIGN EDUCATION : If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. The selectee's background will be checked against records maintained by the following prior to appointment and, as appropriate, on a recurring basis while employed in the position : The Department of Justice National Sex Offenders Registry, Army Criminal Investigation Command / Crime Records Center, previous employer references, State and Local Police, Official Personnel Folder, including adverse action files, Army Inspector General, Army Military Human Resources, Army Substance Abuse Program. The selectee must successfully complete SHARP Training Course(s) IAW SHARP Program requirements and obtain DoD certification within initial 6 months of employment. Failure to complete training and obtain the DoD certification within prescribed timeframes may result in removal from the position and / or Federal service. All Army SHARP Professionals that must obtain and maintain a Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program (D-SAACP) as a condition of employment will be required to submit to a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) Check is required for all states of residence in the previous five years and enrollment in the Continuous Evaluation (CE) program.
