Procurement Manager Job Description
Overview:
As a Procurement Manager for US Auto Supply, you are responsible for building and leading a proactive team. Your responsibilities will include processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, tracking orders, creating, and maintaining an inventory, quality assurance and liaising with inventory teams and management. The Manager will collaborate with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.
The Manager should be analytically minded and possess excellent negotiating skills to secure the best prices according to budget. This is a working manager position based in Elgin, IL
Reporting
. This position will report to the Director of Procurement
Responsibilities:
· Build relationships with suppliers (both inventory and transportation) and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
· Create and/or clarify any processes for the department.
· Develop and execute training sessions for the department.
· Maintains supplier scorecard
· Research, select and purchase quality products and materials, maintaining a 95% on time delivery rate.
· Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
· Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
· Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
· Update inventory, manage min/max and safety stock information, and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
· Assess quality of stock received, resolve issues concerning overages, shortages, damages, mis-identified or out of date inventory, and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
· Keeps and reviews quarterly with each Key Supplier, their performance scorecard emphasizing on time delivery, quality, and cost of ownership.
· Coordinate with inventory team, management, and warehouse as required.
Requirements:
· Bachelor's degree or at least five years of equivalent experience.
· Five years of management experience.
· Analytical and mathematical skills.
· Excellent computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint).
· Proficient in appropriate software.
· Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Strong decision-making skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
