Aircraft Dispatch Supervisor (FAA Flight Dispatch License Not Required)
Overview: The Dispatch Supervisor, reporting to the Dispatch Manager, is responsible for the daily operation of the dispatch department including working as a dispatcher and overseeing the dispatch staff. As the primary contact for all students and instructors, Dispatchers are responsible for relaying all pertinent information to the proper departments as well as advising instructors and students of any changes to the flight schedule. It is essential for the dispatch department to perform efficiently for the success of the Academy. Therefore, leadership, professionalism, teamwork, computer skills, effective communication and excellent customer service are some of the essential qualities needed for success in this role.
Examples of Tasks:
- Checking flights in and out.
- Providing excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
- Main point of contact for instructors, students and guests in person and on the phone.
- Logistical problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
- Adding, changing and canceling flight reservations.
- Invoicing, billing and uploading documents.
- Manage staff schedules and training.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the aptitude to learn customized company software programs.
- 1 years of experience in aviation preferred.
- 1 years of experience in a supervisory role preferred.
Required Skills:
- Candidate should work well in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to the changing needs of the business.
- Must be detail oriented and able to work productively, independently, or within a team.
- Excellent oral/written communication and problem resolution skills are required.
- Successful candidate will maintain a high level of professionalism while multi-tasking various real time situations in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be results oriented and able to obtain a high level of familiarity quickly.
- Strong personal and work ethics along with a high level of integrity.
- Must have the ability to work quickly, calmly, and under pressure while also contributing to team efforts.
- Our operation is seven days a week and candidates must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as schedule dictates.
