Summary of Position:
The Accountable Manager is responsible for maintaining the FAA Certified Repair Station in accordance with 14 CFR Part 145. The repair department is responsible for processing military and commercial cargo system component repairs. In addition, the Accountable Manager will be responsible for understanding the financial performance of the repairs department within U.S. Cargo Systems. This includes working with the sales department with the intent of increasing the volume and overall profitability of commercial and military repairs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively communicate with the FAA to maintain the 14 CFR Part 145 Repair Station and all associated duties required to operate a Certified Repair Station.
- Ensure that the proper equipment and controls are in place to perform repairs in a compliant and consistent manner.
- Ensures efficient collaboration and coordination between departments to deliver products on time, on cost, and on quality.
- Ensure that technical data on articles overhauled or repaired are secured and updated with the latest revisions. This data will include manufacturer’s overhaul manuals or drawings, service bulletins, part specifications, related Federal Aviation Administration-approved data, and other technical data used.
- Manage the process of conducting preliminary, hidden damage, in-process, and final inspection of articles processed in repair and ensure results are recorded.
- Ensure the availability of documents authorizing repairs, tests, and calibrations. Oversee the process of tagging and identification of parts.
- Provides weekly and monthly reports to management, including sales, forecasts, TAT, and OTD.
- Daily tracking and reporting of production teams' safety, quality, velocity, and cost metrics.
- Provide detailed periodic repair department summary reports to include information on product reliability.
- Maintains the preservation of all articles or parts subject to deterioration and shelf-life specifications and conducts quarterly materials audits.
- Performs monthly audits on calibration equipment.
- Review, revise, and execute all aspects of the Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM), to maintain compliance with FAA 14 CFR Part 145.
- Review, revise, and execute all aspects of the Repair Station Training Program Manual (RSTPM), to ensure that all RS personnel receive required Training.
- Ensure periodic maintenance of the repair shop area to 5-S standards.
- Certify and sign off on work performed by other authorized repair persons.
- All other duties as assigned.
