What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Design Engineer position at US Cargo Systems?

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes a US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
Summary of Position:
The mechanical design engineer is responsible for interpreting customer, regulatory and internal process requirements, and developing the mechanical and electro-mechanical design at US Cargo Systems for commercial and military aerospace cargo loading systems. The mechanical design engineer will be the heart of an integrated product team that is tasked with generating new business on behalf of the organization. The mechanical design engineer is expected to provide the necessary leadership to the integrated product team members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand the customer requirements and track the compliance
- Design validation and verification (analysis, testing, reports)
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Maintain drawing list, technical reports, and task lists
- Review deviation requests, material reports, change requests
- Apply Design for cost/manufacture/assembly principles
- Participate and be "hands-on" in the troubleshooting of mechanical issues
- All other duties as assigned
