Job Summary:
The Repair Technician performs inspections and repairs on military and commercial cargo system components. Generating and completing required documentation of work necessary to remain in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration standards, along with U.S. Cargo Systems procedures and practices. This is for a 2nd shift position (3:00pm - 11:30pm).

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs repair of cargo components in accordance with proper procedures, technical publications, and work instructions.
  • Completes inspections/testing of items and generates reports to record inspection/test results.
  • Performs post-repair testing of items, as required, to ensure conformity to all specifications.
  • Completes and ensures availability of documents authorizing repairs, tests and/or calibrations.
  • Maintains the preservation of all articles or parts that are subject to deterioration and shelf-life specifications and conducts monthly audits of the materials.
  • Evaluates components and their ability to be used in service or removed from service.
  • Follow proper procedures and documentation for scrapping and destruction of unserviceable components.
  • Coordinate and communicate work orders to internal customers to ensure best possible response time to external customers.
  • Maintain the repair station area to 5S standards and remove excess debris.
  • Certify and sign off on work performed by other authorized repair technicians.
  • Ensure that calibrated tools are kept current and turn them in for recalibration as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Oracle is a plus, but not required.

Qualifications:

  • FAA Airframe license preferred.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints/part drawings.
  • Must have knowledge of, and be comfortable using, basic hand tools.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and/or internationally. Must possess, or be willing/able to obtain, a valid US Passport.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Undergraduate or Technical degree preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of 1-year related experience and/or training.
  • One Year of Aerospace experience Preferred.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and comply with OSHA standards.

The environmental characteristic for this position is a manufacturing setting and the employee may occasionally be exposed to heat, cold, and wet conditions. Candidates should be able to adapt to a traditional manufacturing environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
