What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Assistant - Cliffside RV Park position at US Commander, Navy Installations?
Duties
- Responsibilities may include greeting customers, and referring telephone calls, provide information regarding the facility and programs.
- Incumbent assists with planning, coordinating, and execution of classes, and special events.
- Incumbent monitors programs for a multi-station customer facility that may include, but is not limited to a computer area, gaming area, movie/TV room, reading area, bowling lanes, children's play area, multipurpose rooms, and small snack bar.
- May be required to drive a 15-passenger van, keep trip records, participant counts, and custody of equipment.
- Distribute information.
- Responsible for collection and safeguarding of any funds that may be collected as a result of a fee or change.
- Assist in day-to-day cleaning of equipment and facility and other related duties as assigned.
- The incumbent may provide oversight to activities and necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information on the use of equipment. Duties to include equipment and field maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.
- This position may require the incumbent to be available to work special events, weekends and holidays.
- A valid state driver’s license
- This position is required to do considerable standing, bending, stooping, walking, pushing, reaching, climbing and lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain food handler’s certification, CPR and First Aid within 90 days of hire.
- Work may require climbing in and around equipment, moving towable equipment and organization of seasonal equipment and supplies.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to clearly communicate orally and in writing.
Qualifications
- Incumbent must have one-year practical work experience including direct customer service or experience with data entry, word processing, internet, e-mail, and at least one-year experience handling cash and utilizing point of sale system.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and communicate effectively and courtesy, using proper English both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to follow verbal and written directions, and present a neat and clean appearance.
Education
High school diploma or equivanlent required.
Additional information
Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
