The Work : As the Bellevue Avenue Branch Manager, you’ll wear many hats—all of them sparkly. From supervising a dynamic team and planning exciting programs to maintaining an inviting space and forging community partnerships, no two days will be the same. While the branch has its own unique character, it’s no island—you’ll work closely with the main library staff to ensure seamless communication, shared goals, and unified services for the Montclair community. You’ll lead with energy and enthusiasm, doing outreach to build connections with schools, community organizations, and local groups, making the branch an integral part of Montclair life. You’ll guide the branch to meet the diverse needs of its residents, ensuring exceptional customer service, a top-notch collection, and a welcoming atmosphere. And yes, you’ll also make sure the shelves look fabulous, programs run smoothly, and everyone (staff and patrons alike) feels like they belong.
Basic Qualifications :
- MLS from an ALA Accredited School with NJ Professional Librarian Certificate.
- Minimum of five years of library experience
- Current knowledge of library trends and innovations.
- Residency in the State of New Jersey required in accordance with New Jersey Revised Statutes § 52 : 14-7

Compensation : Salary range of $66,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience.
