What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Specialist position at US Cotton?
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY
Develops and submits for approval new and revised documents detailing production processes, procedures, and standards. Conducts audits to ensure compliance. Performs root cause analysis and assists with corrective action implementation. Provides quality and manufacturing support as required.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.
- Assists with factory 3rd party certification(s) requirements and audits.
- Conducts root cause analysis on product and packaging quality issues and assist with corrective action.
- Performs product testing as required
- Perform product, process and quality system audits as appropriate.
- Communicate issues and concerns to management regarding operating procedures and conditions, responsible for the necessary follow up and documentation for all investigations.
- May also function in a floor and / or incoming inspection capacity.
- Train on GMP, Employee Certification Program, Create Power Point training for production and training.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
- 3 - 5 years Consumer Quality experience with a high volume / high speed manufacturer producing for the retail industry.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor degree required. ASQ training as well as specialized training in root cause analysis and auditing is preferred.
SKILLS
- Strong math computer skills
- Accuracy to detail
- Able to work independent and unsupervised
- Good verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate at all levels of an organization as well as the ability to effectively convert standards processes to written work instructions and procedures.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE
- Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
- GMP and BCR
- Familiarity with sampling plans and methods
