What You'll Do:
- Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and repair issues related to systems, utilities, structures, grounds, and equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to keep our facilities in top condition.
- Minor Renovations & Installations: Perform minor installations and renovations to improve the functionality and aesthetics of our facilities.
- General Maintenance: Performa variety of repair work, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for Veterans and staff.
- Respond to Service Requests: Address maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Qualifications:
- Physical requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, climbing, and working in various environments.
- Hands-On Expertise: You must have experience using a wide range of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Mechanical Aptitude: A solid understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.) is essential to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety protocols when using tools and equipment is critical to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Interpretation of Instructions & Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret written instructions, technical manuals, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose issues accurately based on technical information or visual inspection.
- Versatility Across Trades: Proficiency in performing maintenance tasks across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, grounds keeping.
