What You'll Do:

  • Vascular Testing: Performa a variety of non-invasive vascular diagnostic tests including ultrasound, doppler studies, and other specialized procedures.
  • Data Acquisition & Analysis: Collect and analyze data from vascular tests, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot medical instrumentation, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Patient Care: Provide compassionate and respectful care to Veterans during vascular testing procedures.
  • Collaboration: Communication effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with VA policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of vascular anatomy
  • Ability to provide Doppler information of peripheral vessels, quantify carotid artery stenosis, plethysmographic tracing, velocity changes, and pressure gradients of vessels and grafts.
  • Ability to perform intracranial (transcranial) vascular examinations.

Vascular Technologist Salary and Benefits:

As a Vascular Medical Instrument Technologist (MIT) at ICVAHCS, you'll enjoy an exceptional benefits package that includes:

  • Vascular Technologist Salary: $81,894 - $106,460 per year
  • Vascular Sonographer Hourly Wage: $39.37 - $51.18 per hour
  • Annual Salary Increases: 2% federal, 2% local, and promotional (on average)

  • Pension: Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) pension contributions
