Position Overview:
As a PACU RN, you'll play a crucial role in the perioperative care continuum, providing specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures. Your expertise will ensure safe and comfortable transitions from surgery to recovery, utilizing advanced monitoring techniques and interventions.Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a critical care expert in the immediate post-operative period, utilizing advanced skills to ensure patient safety and comfort
- Provide life-saving interventions when needed, managing complex cases and potential complications with confidence and precision
- Lead the recovery process by expertly monitoring vital signs, assessing pain levels, and quickly identifying any post-anesthesia complications
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and implement individualized care plans for diverse surgical patients
- Demonstrate mastery in airway management, including advanced techniques for patients with respiratory instability
- Administer and titrate various medications, including analgesics and vasoactive drugs, to optimize patient recovery
- Utilize cutting-edge monitoring equipment and interpret complex physiological data to make critical decisions
- Continually expand your knowledge and skills in perioperative care, staying at the forefront of evidence-based practices
Qualifications:
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license
Preferred Skills:
- CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) certification
- Critical care experience
- Experience with various types of anesthesia and surgical procedures
