Summary This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program, a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.Learn more about this agency Duties The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Pain Management functions to provide behavioral pain services as an integrated part of the Multidisciplinary Pain Management Team. Clinical care will be provided as part of an interprofessional specialty pain care team and within the Biopsychosocial Model of Pain Care and VA Stepped Care Model for Pain Management.Patients served include but are not limited to : Veterans with chronic pain syndrome often with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditionsOpioid-safety concernsComplex functional barriersThe incumbent has a high degree of motivation, skill, and dedication to effectively deliver evidence based care. They conduct initial screenings, assessments, and diagnoses, and are broadly acquainted with various clinical treatment modalities within the scope of a psychologist and clinical support systems. The incumbent will also provide psychoeducation, brief screenings and assessments, evidence-based mental health interventions, and consultations with affiliated departments and programs (e.g., Primacy Care-Mental Health Integration (PCHMI), Mental Health Service (MHS), Substance Treatment and Recovery (STAR), Suicide Prevention, TelePain Team, Opioid Safety Review Board). The incumbent may also participate in trainings, program developments, and quality improvement processes. The incumbent will perform other clinical or non-clinical duties as assigned by the Supervisor and / or PM&R Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS) in concurrence with the Discipline Lead for Psychology.The incumbent has excellent organizational skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for delivering both in-person and distance-based biopsychosocial services to a diverse population of Veterans. The incumbent is familiar with telehealth technologies and telehealth systems administration.
