Description
The objective of the Electrical Design Engineer position is to design, develop and maintain products for the motion control, robotics, automation and sensor industries.
As an Electrical Design Engineer you will be able to perform the following duties:
- Design electrical products according to customer specifications from concept to completion
- Support and maintain existing US Digital Products
- Provide support to other departments in the form of debugging, test and possible repair of electrical equipment as needed
- Use internal systems for documentation and version control including SharePoint, EPDM and SVN
- Carry out job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years experience in hardware and firmware design required.
- Experience designing a variety of circuits including analog interfaces, microcontrollers, motor controllers/drivers, sensors. Microchip PIC/dsPIC experience a plus.
- Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout, preferably using Altium tools.
- Skilled in writing efficient, well documented real-time firmware for microcontrollers/DSP’s in C. Familiarity with PSPICE. Knowledge of FPGAs and HDL a plus.
- Able to use a variety of test equipment, such as DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Signal Generators and Microcontroller debuggers.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 procedures a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to design products for efficiency, testability and manufacturability.
- Effectively able to work in a collaborative team environment or individually as needed.
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently and accurately in a dynamic environment
- Strong attention to detail with excellent research, multi-tasking, scheduling and follow up skills required.
- Must keep knowledge and skills current.
- Be able to perform basic physical tasks such as lifting 25lbs, reading, nimbleness of hands for typing and writing.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Hours are Monday - Thursday 6:30 to 5:00 pm
