Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our Manufacturing team. This role is responsible for installing, setting up, and maintaining Make-Pack specific machines used in the production of filters, cigarettes, cigars, and packaging. The ideal candidate will ensure production efficiency and quality by optimizing machine operations and troubleshooting electrical and electronic equipment. This position requires strong technical expertise to minimize downtime and maintain a smooth manufacturing process.Key Responsibilities:
- Install and configure Make-Pack machines for optimal production performance.
- Develop or modify electrical/electronic circuits and equipment based on specifications.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Analyze test results, observe machine functions, and interpret error messages to diagnose issues.
- Utilize test equipment and software to troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic malfunctions.
- Inspect and replace faulty electrical components as needed.
- Ensure control instruments function correctly and make necessary adjustments.
- Coordinate with manufacturers or specialized repair shops for defective parts.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to complete necessary repairs.
- Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies, submitting orders as required.
- Keep detailed maintenance logs and reports.
- Communicate machine issues with Maintenance Electricians across shifts.
- Train operators on maintaining cleanliness in designated areas.
- Follow housekeeping and safety procedures, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
- Maintain tools and equipment for operational efficiency.
- Adhere to Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a systematic and logical manner.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Ability to operate machinery and control screens.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.
- Familiarity with the metric system.
- Strong understanding of tools and machine repair techniques.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and ladder logic programming (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley, or similar systems).
- Knowledge of Variable Speed Motor Controllers.
Experience:
- Prior machine maintenance experience preferred.
- PLC troubleshooting and programming experience preferred.
- Related military training is a plus.
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in a related field preferred.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work overtime and additional shifts as needed to meet production demands.
