Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Industrial)

Location: Cave Spring, VA
Shift: 3rd Sunday- Thursday 10:30pm-7:00am (will train on 1st shift 7:00am-3:30pm initially)

Pay Range: $28-$35/hr ($1.00 shift differential)

Job Summary:
As a vital member of the team, you will perform essential maintenance tasks to troubleshoot, repair, and improve machinery and equipment, ensuring they remain in optimal working condition. Your role is critical in minimizing downtime, optimizing production efficiency, and supporting our team with timely and quality-driven solutions. You will actively identify and resolve issues, perform routine maintenance, and report progress to ensure all equipment operates within the specified standards.

Education/Experience:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in Industrial Maintenance within a manufacturing environment
• Experience with Corrugator or Converting Manufacturing Processes (preferred)
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and automation knowledge
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English, with a focus on safety protocols and maintenance-related communication
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work systematically and with attention to detail
• A service-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency and dedication to delivering results

Key Responsibilities:

• Quickly diagnose and resolve machine breakdowns to minimize production downtime
• Create and update work orders for repairs and maintenance activities
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and process improvements to reduce equipment failure rates, improve production efficiency, and meet quality targets
• Complete planned maintenance tasks within the designated time frame, adhering to the PM schedule
• Ensure all work is executed to high standards, meeting both safety and quality requirements
• Make informed decisions regarding repair costs, balancing quality and efficiency
• Research and implement cost-effective and efficient repair and maintenance strategies
• Collaborate with the Operations Team to foster a proactive, team-based approach to equipment upkeep
• Stay current with technical developments and best practices to continually enhance your skillset

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Capable of using various maintenance tools and equipment, with a willingness to learn new technologies
• Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to perform all job functions safely while adhering to company safety regulations
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing, and bending, for extended periods
• Regularly required to communicate verbally and listen effectively in a team environment
• Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting movements
• Visual acuity required for close-up and distance vision, color differentiation, and depth perception

Work Environment:

• Work environment may be noisy at times, with regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
• Exposure to various elements related to equipment maintenance in a manufacturing setting
