Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Quality Manager to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and lead the quality process, ensuring that our products consistently meet and exceed company standards. The Quality Manager will manage, plan, coordinate, and direct a quality control program to ensure continuous production of products in line with our quality standards. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of developing and guiding our staff through quality assurance functions and working closely with various departments to verify quality throughout the production process. You will play a critical role in maintaining quality standards, including approving incoming materials, overseeing in-process production, and performing final verification before products reach our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Complaints: Handle customer complaints, maintain appropriate records, and communicate solutions to customers. Ensure the proper disposition of hold items and establish acceptable hold levels.
• Quality Procedures: Define quality procedures with operating staff, ensuring team members are trained effectively.
• Material and Production Inspection: Supervise and approve incoming materials by confirming specifications through visual and measurement tests. Oversee in-process production and finished product inspections to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Quality Reporting: Ensure that all inspection results are documented accurately. Maintain logs and reports, summarizing rework and waste, and input data into quality databases.
• Maintenance of Equipment: Ensure measurement equipment operates efficiently by following operating instructions and requesting repairs when necessary.
• Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established safety standards and complying with legal regulations.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within the quality process and work towards enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

Required:

• At least 3 years of experience in quality control, preferably in metal fabrication or a similar industry.
• Solid understanding of basic manufacturing processes such as light assembly, metalworking, and painting.
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, coating thickness, height, and radius gauges.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and basic math operations.
• Strong communication skills to discuss procedures, provide training, and collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Proven experience in root cause analysis.
• Knowledge of statistical software (a plus).
• Experience with standard and quality management systems (FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP).
• Experience working with ISO 9001 (Preferred).
• Strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Work Environment:

The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts and vibration. Noise levels in the production area can be loud.

Physical Demands:

• The position requires the ability to talk, hear, sit, or stand for extended periods.
• The ability to use hands to handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
