Scrub Technician
Location: Lady Lake, FL (Santa Fe Surgery Center)
Job Summary
The Scrub Technician is responsible for assisting the surgical team during operative procedures. They are responsible for maintaining a sterile field, passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly. The Scrub Technician must be knowledgeable in surgical procedures and able to anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for surgery by setting up surgical instruments and equipment
- Assist the surgical team during operative procedures by passing instruments and supplies to the surgeon
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgical procedure
- Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other members of the surgical team
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation for surgery
- Assist with the cleaning and restocking of the operating room after surgery
- Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Scrub Technician
- Knowledge of surgical procedures and instruments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work varying shifts and hours as needed

- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment for extended periods of time
