We have an immediate opening for a full-time Endocrine Laboratory Technician in our busy Towson, MD Endocrine Laboratory. The schedule is Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Pay range $23-$27.
How You'll Contribute:
We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Endocrine Lab Technician is responsible for:
- Performs quality controls, calibration and instrument preventive maintenance checks at the required frequency and documents such actions.
- Checks and records daily temperature of refrigerators to ensure proper storage of media reagents.
- Monitors supply of reagents and other material to ensure adequate supply at all times and orders supplies when necessary.
- Take appropriate safety precautions for handling specimen and contaminated areas.
- Performs all clerical tasks associated with recording laboratory results in designated areas and filing.
- Provide a turnaround time to the physicians approximate two hour request from the time specimens are received.
- Reliability: It is an essential function of this position to report to work on time for your scheduled hours, ready for work.
What You'll Bring:
The skills and education we need are:
- Minimum of one year laboratory experience
- Experience in a chemistry analyzer strongly preferred
- Bachelors' degree in biology science or related field; MLT ASCP certification or equivalent
- Ability to troubleshoot assays and equipment
