Job Overview:
The Trim & Assembly department is responsible for installing all final finishing trim and other components during fire truck production. They will work as a member of a trim team and must be able to communicate well with the Team Lead and other production crew to ensure every truck is built to the customer’s specifications and industry standards. They must have a strong understanding of automotive carpentry principles, including using a tape measure for precise measurements, work well as a team, have an eye for detail, and take personal pride in their work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Install and mount all finishing components of fire truck production, including diamond plating, sheet metal, hardware, and various other finishing trim components
- Measure and fit parts using a tape measure
- Read and understand blueprints, design schematics, and engineering specification sheets
- Ensure all components are installed to a precise fit and finish
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to use and read a tape measure
- Experience with common hand tools including drills, D/As, and caulk guns
- Capable of working in a team environment and communicating with peers and supervisors
- Must be able to climb up and down ladders
