What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nuclear Medicine Technologist position at US Heart and Vascular?
US Heart and Vascular is in need of a full time Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at HeartPlace in Richardson, TX.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Explains procedures to patients and obtains informed consent from patient.
- Administers all in-office nuclear tests.
- Images, processes, and formats images for physician interpretation.
- Maintains cleanliness of nuclear room.
- Documents test results to physicians and patients, as directed by physician.
- Verifies patient appointments the day before, to ensure use of isotope.
- Assists in notifying patients of special instructions prior to testing, i.e., "do not take any medication 24 hours prior to visit."
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist will assist physicians as needed.
- Maintains current CPR certification.
- Adheres to company safety standards at all times, such that no serious (requiring medical attention) injury occurred during the prior 12-month period.
- Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.
- Performs all other duties as required.
