What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider position at US Heart & Vascular?
US Heart and Vascular is in need of a highly skilled and motivated Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ.
This is a chance to work with the largest private cardiology practice in Arizona. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the Electrophysiologist as well as independently. An electrophysiology nurse practitioner—a specialty in cardiology nursing—assists and educates patients undergoing an electrophysiology study procedure of the heart. An electrophysiology study of the heart involves a nonsurgical procedure to obtain information about the heart’s electrical activity.
Candidates must have:
- Two years of experience working as experienced out-patient/inpatient Cardiology Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
- Although this position is both outpatient and inpatient; the majority of the time will be OUTPATIENT, so we are looking for candidates with strong outpatient experience.
- Master’s degree in nursing; graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Active AZ license or willing to apply.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Skills:
- General health care and cardiovascular patient assessment and exam skills
- Electrophysiology experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Ability to function independently
- Can demonstrate knowledge and competence in basic cardiovascular technology, i.e. EKG, patient assessment and management of care, etc.
Experience:
- Cardiology NP EP Outpatient: 2 years (Preferred)
- Inpatient: 1 year (Preferred)
- Electrophysiology: 1 year (Preferred)
- Cardiovascular patient assessment: 2 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- DEA Certification
- ACLS Certification
- BLS Certification
- AZ license or willing to apply
Job Type: Full Time
Monday – Friday with some weekend call (6 weekends per year)
