US Heart and Vascular is in need of a full-time Medical Front Office Specialist to join our team at Birmingham Heart Clinic in Birmingham, AL.
Responsibilities:
- Check-in patients or greet customers in a friendly, professional manner.
- Obtain complete registration from the patient
- Prepare the encounter, verifying insurance referral and/or prior authorizations are valid and print the medication lists.
- Enter electronic messages to other departments to assist with patient flow and document patient wait times.
- Assist the Billing Department with collecting co-pays and patient balances.
- Provide the billing department with a clear copy of insurance cards and current demographic information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Knowledge of patient scheduling techniques/insurance & billing preferred but not required
- High school diploma or GED
