What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nuclear Medicine Assistant position at US Heart & Vascular?
Us Heart and Vascular is in need of a Nuclear Medicine Assistant to join PIMA Heart and Vascular in the Tuscon, AZ.
Main Function: Assists with procedures performed on patients under the direction of a physician according to department protocol.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares stress rooms for procedures
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts.
- Position patients and equipment
- Cleans and disinfects instruments
- Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
- Operates electrocardiograph (EKG), treadmill, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test and schedule patients for tests
- Gives injections or treatments
- Screens telephone calls/emails
- Preps and perform Treadmill stress tests for patients.
- Returns patient phone calls
- Monitors NUC/PET schedules to maintain full schedules
- Start IVs and run nuclear cameras
- Travel required
- Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
- Other related duties may be assigned
Requirements:
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program
- Knowledge in medical terminology
- Ability to effectively communicate
- Cardiac Experience Preferred
