What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Cycle Specialist position at US Heart & Vascular?
Us Heart and Vascular is in need of a Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team at Memorial Katy Cardiology in Katy, TX.
Responsibilities
- Check patient ins verification spreadsheet, and email appropriately to front desk.
- Check peer to peer spreadsheet to see if any authorizations have been denied and give to MA to schedule P2P for physician
- Answer questions they may have about claim denials, appeals etc.
- Pull medical records that they are unable to access
- Get missing information from physicians on progress notes such as missing DX, CPT codes.
- Assist billing company Houston office with calls they receive from patients such as patient balances from old company, other misc. issues they may not be able to handle.
- Help with verification questions /concerns from patients
- Help with last-minute verification, i.e. checking copay, eligibility
- Void payments, when necessary.
- Request last minute authorizations for echo's, nuclear and pet’s
- Prepare weekly pick-up for billing company.
- Record hospital billing sheets on spreadsheets before they are picked up, as to keep track of what is going out of the office and make sure they are being billed
- Make sure deposits from all office locations are ready for pick up
- Prepare mail that needs to go to billing company
- Upload invoices to concur
- Handle appeals and claim corrections as needed
- Send claim error to billing company
- Run report for claims that have not been billed and get either MA or physician to complete note
- Run monthly reports for billing.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of billing and coding experience
- Minimum of 2 year of medical office experience
- Experience in cardiology is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
