Level II NDT Technician – Job Description
Position Summary:
The Level II Technician is responsible for performing NDT/NDE inspections in certified methods, accurately reporting findings, and maintaining strong communication with customer representatives. Quality and efficiency are top priorities in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform NDT/NDE inspections in certified methods and interpret results
- Set up and operate testing equipment
- Adhere to safety regulations (radiation, industrial, and health standards)
- Organize and report test results in a clear, professional format
- Complete daily inspection reports and documentation
- Follow the Company Code of Conduct and maintain high ethical standards
- Submit weekly time sheets, expense reports, and time/material sheets
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management
Required Qualifications:
- Certified or Certifiable Level II in RT (Radiographic Testing), with additional NDT/NDE certifications (MT, PT, UT, VT) preferred
- Possess IRRSP or agreement state card for radiography compliance
- Familiarity with NDT/NDE equipment and regulatory codes (OSHA, EPA, API, NFPA, ASME, etc.) preferred
- Strong self-motivation, reliability, and ability to work independently
- Capable of leading small teams and mentoring others
- Excellent communication skills across all levels
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass drug test & FBI background check
- Must comply with all company safety policies
- Maintain all required certifications
Preferred (but not required):
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements:
- Lift, carry, and move objects over 50 lbs
- Climb ladders, stairs, and scaffolding over 100 feet repeatedly
- Work at heights up to 250 feet using a harness and lanyard
- Step up into vehicles and onto equipment safely
- Stand for extended periods and work long shifts
- Work in extreme temperatures (hot/cold) and industrial environments with hazards
