The Designer Hourly uses computer or technical tools to prepare detailed presentation of building material requirements and or systems for assigned project or related segment. This position may design and complete layouts of residential roof and floor systems for pricing and manufacturing.

The Designer Hourly uses computer or technical tools to prepare detailed presentation of building material requirements and or systems for assigned project or related segment. This position may design and complete layouts of residential roof and floor systems for pricing and manufacturing.
What You Will Do
- Designs residential and commercial wall panels using MiTek Saphire software.
- Discusses changes and corrections with engineers, architects and contractors prior to and during construction.
- Produces materials list.
- Resolves architectural and design discrepancies.
- Complies with Company’s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
- Performs other duties as necessary.
- Read and understand blueprints and detailed technical drawings.
- Use computer or other technical equipment to provide a technically accurate layout (takeoff) of customer order.
- Adhere to local building codes and material constraints when developing material list and design layout.
- Assist customers as required, providing accurate, timely and thorough customer service.
- Develops & improves standard design specifications and active participation in process improvement.
- Complete projects on time.
- High School or GED required.
- Associate's Degree in civil, architectural or design related field may be required.
- 2 years of drafting experience in a construction or building materials-related industry required.
- Utilizing MiTek Sapphire software
- Special skills required—Proficient technical writing skills. Excellent salesmanship and communication skills. Proprietary software, MiTek Sapphire, computer literate, ability to read technical drawings.
- Special skills required—2 years of experience in Proprietary software, MiTek Saphire.
- Special knowledge required—Reading and interpreting blueprints in an architectural related industry.
- Other— PC Literate with Microsoft Office products, MiTek, and other design programs that facilitate learning in-house program with ease.
Salary : $20 - $35
