Continuous Improvement Coordinator I
NIGHTSHIFT: 9P.M.-7A.M. SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the required company standards for quality and maintain calibrated test equipment, prepare test data, and identify areas for quality control improvement. This position is also responsible to train associates on quality procedures in each area of the manufacturing process.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:
· Ensure there is quality testing all the time; carry out inspections so as to meet the standard set by the organization.
· Focus on corrective actions in order to make sure that products meet required specifications.
· Initiate training for workers concerning quality policy and procedures.
· Engage in quality calibrations and internal audits in a professional manner. Audit assigned areas of the process. Maintain all documentation for the purpose of auditing.
· Collect regular samples for analysis in the quality laboratory.
· Report quality issues to supervisors and plant management.
· Constant updating of job knowledge by reading technical publications, participating in seminars and other educational opportunities
· Ensure measuring equipment are functioning properly and calling for repairs where equipment are faulty.
· Approve finished products prior to shipment.
· Work with the management and production managers to ensure that only quality products are produced. Write standard operating procedures as required.
· Ensure that no rejected or on-hold material is used for production or shipped to customers.
· Help to check and update quality control policies.
· Work as a team under the supervision of the VP Quality.
· Find solutions to customers’ complaints and feedbacks.
· Remove bad products that are discovered during the production process.
· Monitor every stage of production to avoid product defects.
· Write reports and submit same to the VP Quality.
· Record test results as required.
· Recommend modifications to already existing production standards within the limits of available equipment capacity and capability.
· Proper assessment of suppliers. Participate in supplier quality issue resolution.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 9P.M.-7A.M. SUNDAY THROUGH THURSDAY
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· Computer skills especially in the use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to manage files and records effectively.
· Thorough understanding of methods and processes involved in manufacturing. 1-3 years working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
· Excellent interpersonal and good communication skills which include the ability to teach and explain proper procedures to the production staff.
· Well skilled in quality processes and also basic statistical measures.
· Strong attention to details in order not to lose sight of anything, no matter how minute.
· Knowledge about measurement and test equipment; can use tape measures, calipers and micrometers proficiently.
· Ability to work well in a team.
· Ability to interpret instructions whether written, spoken, or in a diagram.
· Possess good problem-solving skills.
· Knowledge of basic mathematics – arithmetic, geometry, and statistics and their relevant applications.
