The successful candidate will perform the full range of Senior Reactor Systems Engineer duties.
Such duties include but are not limited to :
- Serving as the senior technical staff in the areas of accident consequences code development and risk analysis, serves as a principal technical contact and liaison with regard to such activities. Serves as a technically authoritative expert in use of the MELCOR Accident Consequence Code System (MACCS) developed to evaluate off-site consequences from severe accidents of radioactive material release into the environment.
- Recommending and developing modifications to accident consequences codes (e.g., PAA- level 3), risk analysis and experimental research programs as directed.
- Routinely interacts with managers and technical leads to ensure that research activities are identified and carried out in a timely fashion to meet established Commission schedule.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GG-14) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following :
Education
Degree : Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must lead to a bachelor’s degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET.
Additional Information
The duty location of this position is Rockville, MD. In general, employees are expected to be in the office at a minimum of 4 days per pay period.
