About the Role:
This entry-level position plays a critical role in ensuring all company goals are met for a particular operation(s) and client(s). The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in contracting activities associated with Independent Contractors (ICs) that provide delivery equipment and transport products from clients' locations to designated areas as requested by the customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure routes are adequately covered, IC check-in is complete, and communicated to the customer, and that routes run smoothly.
- Create routes based on customer specifications. Guarantee ICs accepted dispatch provides delivery services, and communicate changes to dispatch department and ICs as needed.
- Monitor the dispatch board to ensure customer requested delivery times are being met.
- Communicate any delays and/or problems to the customer and dispatch department.
- Verify that ICs are providing services in the vehicle type requested by the customer.
- Comply with IC log in process and EC-mobile.
- Collaborate with ICs to resolve issues they may encounter while under dispatch.
- Assist in arranging for STAT coverage for customers, as needed.
- Reorganize routes when necessary, to ensure on-time completion.
- Verify ICs are providing contracted delivery services in compliance with customer regulations.
- Support with contracting of ICs as needed.
- Prepare and submit daily service reports as required by the customer.
- Generate and process administrative reports and paperwork as directed.
- Follow up with ICs to ensure their paperwork is up to date, as needed.
- Ensure ICs are providing services in a uniform shirt with visible ID badge, as required by customers for identification and security purposes.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of MS Office Programs (Outlook, Excel, and Word) required.
- Proactive and resourceful individual able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Exercise independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and manage competing tasks or demands that may be deadline driven.
- Valid driver's license and clean, functional vehicle must be maintained.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with customers.
- Lift up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Work overtime as necessary.
