About the Role :

The Demand Planning Manager plays a critical role in the monthly Sales & Operation Planning (S&OP) process. This position involves advanced forecasting and offers significant opportunities in project management and driving strategic improvements in the S&OP process. Collaboration is essential, requiring close interaction with Account Management, Project Management, Finance, and Supply Chain & Logistic functions.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead the formulation and execution of demand plans aligned with company objectives.
  • Partner with sales account managers to understand forecast variances and update forecasts monthly using inputs from the Account / Project Management teams.
  • Develop and refine demand forecasts at various levels of aggregation to guide the Sales & Operations Plan.
  • Analyze historical sales trends, research demand drivers, compile forecast data, create advanced statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast outcomes.
  • Compute and monitor forecast accuracy, distribution center accuracy, and relevant metrics.
  • Lead cross-functional research to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model.
  • Engage with Account Managers, Project Management team, and other key stakeholders to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Conduct comprehensive business analyses, propose solutions, and execute strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Account Management, Supply Planning, Project Management, and Finance functions.
  • Collaborate with warehouse management team to ensure accurate demand allocation between distribution centers.
  • Manage and lead ad hoc projects aimed at refining and advancing the S&OP process.
  • Conduct and oversee ad-hoc analyses as requested by management.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance.

Requirements :

  • 5 years of experience in forecasting or planning roles with a focus on quantitative analysis and modeling, preferably in the CPG industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborative work across all functions.
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel usage, including filters, v-lookups, pivot tables, graphing, complex calculations with nested functions, etc.
  • Data-driven with expertise in implementing and / or designing statistical metrics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with well-thought-out action plans.
  • Comfortable analyzing and segmenting large datasets.
  • Effective time management, organized with the ability to prioritize work activities and meet commitments.
  • Capable of adapting to changing priorities.
  • Takes ownership, initiative, and responsibility for work progress.
  • Acts autonomously, with keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with demand planning software and ERP systems is a plus.
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Physical Demands :

    While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, communicate, and operate standard office equipment. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, and move or lift up to 35 lbs. The employee regularly works in a well-lighted, heated and / or air-conditioned indoor office setting with a moderate degree of noise.

    TRAVEL :

    This position requires travel; most travels may be outside home base area and may be overnight. Some of the travels may be international.
