- Deliver mail and packages to customers along a prescribed route or as an auxiliary assistant by a vehicle
- Collect monies and receipts for accountable mail
- Pick up mail from roadside boxes
- Furnish routine information concerning postal matters to customer
- Return mail collected, undelivered mail, and submit monies and receipts to post office
- Prepare appropriate time records
- Provide for mail security at all times
