About : USRowing is a nonprofit organization recognized by the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee as the national governing body for the sport of rowing in the United States. The organization's mission is to steward, strengthen, and grow American rowing by championing performance and igniting new passion for the sport.
USRowing selects, trains, and manages the teams that represent the U.S. in international competition. The organization serves multiple constituencies including novice learn-to-rowers, parents of rowers, masters rowers, adaptive rowers, collegiate rowers, indoor rowers and, most recently, coastal rowers.
We are focused on growing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the sport of rowing on a national scale, on increasing support for our national team programs, and providing additional benefits and value to our over 77,000 individual members and 1,430 rowing organizations.
Job Summary : We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Marketing and Communications to execute our integrated marketing and communications strategy for the broader organization through the lens of Performance, Experience, and Inclusion. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing innovative marketing, communications, and PR campaigns to drive engagement and affinity among all USRowing stakeholders; effectively communicate our vision, mission, and values; ensure delivery of clear, concise, and brand-aligned messaging for all program and governance communications; and grow sport awareness by promoting rowing across the country. The ideal candidate will have diverse professional experience across different marketing and communications roles to apply a holistic approach to this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities :
- Marketing and Communications Strategy. Develop and implement comprehensive and integrated marketing, brand, PR, and communications campaigns and strategies that support USRowing's vision, mission, values, and objectives.
- Digital Marketing. Oversee all digital marketing initiatives, with direct ownership of email and SMS marketing, and ownership over the improvement of USRowing.org - including SEO, content marketing, new feature development, and editorial oversight.
- Event Marketing. Develop marketing and communications campaigns for USRowing events (including regattas, camps, clinics, conferences, and fundraising opportunities), milestone moments for our sport (the Olympics & Paralympics, world championships, etc.), and evergreen programs like United We Row.
- Communications and Public Relations. Have a presence in day to day communications and public relations activities, including media relations, press releases, and editorial review of important messaging and copy.
- Team Leadership. Lead and mentor a small team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment that continually raises the bar on both performance and professional development. Also own the day-to-day management of supporting vendors and freelance personnel.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making. Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing and communications strategies
- Project Management. Manage non-crisis related marketing and communications campaigns from inception to execution. This includes editorial calendar and deadline management and relating communications to internal stakeholders.
Qualifications :
Salary : $75,000-$85,000
