POSITION SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, the Work Control Planner I is responsible for ensuring efficient utilization and accountability for space and facilities based on needs, space limitations, and cost considerations for the DUF6 Project in accordance with all applicable codes, rules, regulations, laws, and organizational procedures. The specific work assignment may include duties or activities to support the organization in one or more of the following functional areas, in addition to other duties as assigned.

  • Director of Business Development
  • Project Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Through the employee’s own efforts, the employee accomplishes the following essential functions:

1. Assists with preparation of work control and planning packages or documents for facility services relating to new construction, remodeling, building maintenance, and rearrangement in accordance with approved procedures.

2. Helps coordinate scheduling of work activities during outages and normal operations.

3. Supports scheduling of work planning and review/approval meetings to ensure work packages are ready for use when plant systems or components are removed from service and made available for maintenance activities.

4. Interfaces with planning and scheduling, support function, and operations and maintenance personnel to coordinate, plan and schedule work packages in support of outages and repair activities.

5. Aids in preparation of detailed work packages that control work activities ensuring completion in a manner that is timely, efficient and economic while adhering to safety and quality standards.

6. Assists in updating repetitive work packages (revision control) when plant systems, components, procedures or maintenance practices change.

7. Utilizes and updates the Maintenance Planning System (MPS) software program to maintain current and historical versions of repetitive and non-repetitive work packages.

8. Supports with providing feedback to the Plant Manager ensuring business operations are properly resourced for cost efficiency and effective scheduling through the monitoring of use of work packages and outcome of work processes

9. Aids in tracking and trending cost and schedule parameters for all work packages

10. Perform other job duties as assigned.

5. Possesses the ability to read and comprehend piping and instrument diagrams, drawings, schematics, procedures, plans and instructions or other work- related documents. Possesses the ability to utilize work order scheduling software

6. Cost Consciousness: Works within approved budget; Develops and implements cost-saving measures. Possesses the ability to periodically tour plan operating spaces to observe planned work in progress and observe the ways and means by which work can be performed more safely, effectively, and cost efficiently.

Advocates and demonstrates a strong commitment to ES&H and a nuclear safety culture. 10. Dependability: Follows instructions; Responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments. Demonstrates knowledge of applicable regulations such as Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) Technical Safety Requirement (TSR), safety requirements, etc.

11. Attention to Detail and Thoroughness. Ability to inspect the quality of work performed and ensure thorough completion. Consistently completes quality work. Thoroughly completes work with little or no supervision. Is present, punctual and committed to doing the best job possible.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. The physical activity for the Work Control Planner I is:
a. Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
b. Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks and has an ability to navigate from one location to another.
c. Feeling. Must be able to perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. Assesses potential safety threats, such as by exposure to chemicals and heat from malfunctioning equipment.
d. Talking and hearing. Able to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make the discrimination in sound.
e. Repetitive motions. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrist, hands, and and/or fingers.

2. Physical requirements for the Work Control Planner I:
  • Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, with walking and standing required only occasionally.

3. The visual acuity requirements for the Work Control Planner I (including color, depth
perception and field vision).
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work.

4. The Work Control Planner I will be subject to the following conditions in this position:
  • The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions, protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and / or ability required.

Minimum Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent
  • 6 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 1 years of nuclear experience.

Computer Skills:
  • Senior level PC skills to include Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat
