Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk/Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring equipment, parts, and supplies essential for our equipment rental and trucking operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement, vendor management, and supply chain logistics, ensuring that our company secures high-quality products at the best value while maintaining efficiency in operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing & Purchasing: Identify and procure equipment, vehicles, parts, and materials required for daily operations.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings.
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels of critical supplies, ensuring timely restocking to prevent operational delays.
- Cost Analysis: Evaluate purchasing trends and costs to identify opportunities for financial savings and process improvements.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities align with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Order Tracking & Coordination: Work closely with internal teams to track orders, ensure timely deliveries, and address any supply chain disruptions.
- Budget Management: Assist in budgeting and forecasting procurement needs based on operational demands.
- Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, new suppliers, and innovative procurement strategies to enhance efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within the equipment rental, aggregate or trucking industry.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Google Drive.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of DOT and equipment rental regulations is a plus.
- Knowledge of Equipment and or Truck Parts is a plus
