Job Description:
We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Excavator Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy-duty haul trucks to transport materials such as rock, gravel, sand, or other aggregate materials within construction or mining sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators to extract aggregate materials in a safe and productive manner.
- Load haul trucks with raw materials from designated pit areas.
- Feed crushers or screen plants with material as required.
- Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance; report any mechanical issues.
- Assist with general pit operations including site clean-up, stockpile management, and material sorting.
- Follow proper safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with pit supervisors, truck drivers, and other operators.
- Keep accurate records of production and material movement.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and log documentation.
Requirements:
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Experience operating haul trucks or other heavy equipment preferred
- Strong commitment to safety and attention to detail
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions
- Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work long shifts if necessary
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in construction, mining, or quarry environments
- Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and safety checks
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)
- Knowledge of sand mining operations (preferred)
