RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions
- Manage and provide technical support for Space Camp Robotics and Cyber Camp activities and missions.
- Ensure all technology-driven programs run smoothly and align with Space Camp objectives.
- Supervise the coordination of materials, supplies, and equipment to ensure adequate resources for daily operations.
- Oversee the upkeep, troubleshooting, and maintenance of camp technology, including drones, VR/AR equipment, 3D printers, and advanced manufacturing tools.
- Collaborate with FBI and local cybersecurity companies to coordinate off-site visits and on-site briefings for trainees and staff.
- Work with internal and external partners to enhance technology integration within Space Camp programs.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs for Crew Trainers on technology curriculum, equipment usage, and best practices.
- Supervise and assess staff performance, providing guidance and solutions in collaboration with Camp Operations Managers and Human Resources.
- Enforce camp policies, safety procedures, and operational protocols in technology program areas.
- Support trainee discipline and provide parent/chaperone assistance as needed.
- Provide technical expertise to other USSRC departments, including the Museum, USSRC Educational Foundation, and Space Camp Education Team, to support outreach, program development, and technology initiatives.
- Ensure a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for all trainees, meeting or exceeding expectations for safety, hygiene, and emotional well-being.

Level of Supervision: The Camp Technology Programs Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing the Camp Technical Team, including Technical Leads and Crew Trainers. This role oversees staff scheduling, workload distribution, and daily operations to ensure efficiency in technology-based programs. The supervisor provides guidance, resolves team concerns, and conducts performance evaluations to improve staff effectiveness. They work closely with Camp Operations Managers and Human Resources to address performance issues, implement disciplinary actions if necessary, and support professional development. Additionally, the supervisor develops and conducts training programs to ensure staff are proficient in equipment usage, curriculum delivery, and safety protocols.

The Camp Technology Programs Supervisor role may require occasional travel depending on program needs. Travel may be necessary for coordinating off-site visits and partnerships with organizations such as the FBI, local cybersecurity firms, or educational institutions to enhance Space Camp programming. Additionally, the supervisor may attend conferences, workshops, or training sessions related to STEM education, robotics, cybersecurity, or camp management to stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Travel may also be required for outreach initiatives, recruitment efforts, or technical support for off-site Space Camp events. While most responsibilities are based at the Space Camp facility, the ability to travel when needed is an essential aspect of the role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education
- Minimum of 30 college credit hours with supervisory experience.
Required Experience
- 2 seasons as a Crew Trainer in a Space Camp Technology program.
- Experience working with children with ADHD/special needs.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining electronic devices.
- Knowledge of robotics, cybersecurity, aviation principles, and unmanned systems (drones).
- Experience with FIRST/Lego/VEX Robotics competitions.
- Familiarity with advanced manufacturing equipment and 3D modeling software.
- Proficiency in Python and Scratch programming.
- Proficient in DOS and Windows-based systems, including Excel and Microsoft Word.
