The Assistant Finished Product Warehouse Supervisor supports the Finished Product Warehouse Supervisor in managing daily operations of the finished product warehouse. This role involves overseeing the receipt, storage, and shipping of finished goods, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe and efficient warehouse environment. The Assistant Supervisor collaborates with shipping, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with company standards.
Essential Duties:
- Assist in supervising warehouse staff and managing daily operations to ensure an efficient workflow.
- Oversee the processes of receiving, storing, and dispatching finished products, with a focus on shipping operations.
- Ensure accurate preparation and management of shipping documents, including BOLs and packing slips.
- Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks to ensure accuracy and facilitate efficient shipping.
- Ensure proper handling and storage practices to prevent product damage or spoilage during shipment.
- Coordinate with logistics and distribution teams to fulfill orders promptly and accurately.
- Implement and enforce safety and security measures within the warehouse.
- Assist in developing and updating warehouse procedures and policies related to shipping.
- Support the Warehouse Supervisor in reporting and conducting performance analysis.
- While primarily supporting, this role involves direct oversight of warehouse staff to meet shipping and operational targets and maintain adherence to protocols.
- Successfully participate in and complete all periodic Company designated safety training, supervisory and management skills training and/or certifications related to the position.
- Abide by and enforce all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook and in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, as well as all Company, Local, State and Federal Regulations relating to Health, Safety, Operations, etc.
- Additional functions as required by business needs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in logistics or a related field is preferred.
- 2-3 years’ experience in warehouse operations, ideally in a supervisory capacity.
- Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory software, and shipping documentation.
- Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database management.
Working Conditions:
- 30% of the work environment is conducted in an open outdoor environment, exposed to heights and rapidly changing temperatures including extreme heat, weather conditions, blowing dust and particles, burning bulk and liquid fuel, while wearing PPE (i.e.: hard hat, goggles, hair net, ear plugs, and/or full body chemical resistant suits), climbing stairs or ladders, kneeling, crawling, bending, stooping, reaching, and walking on uneven ground containing slip and trip hazards.
