Location: Cambridge, MA / preference for hybrid but eligible for remote work(depending on candidate location), might have to travel in the US only as needed, wouldn't be a lot. Amount of travel in the US is not known at this time.
  • Reporting to the Director, Medical Affairs, the Associate Director, Medical Affairs, Neuroscience, will support and oversee some of the medical affairs’ activities of the Neuroscience therapeutic areas.
  • The Associate Director is responsible for contributing to the Promotional and Medical review of content, support medical strategies and overall US medical affairs plans, including, scientific communications for congress presentations and publications (in conjunction with the Publication team), support clinical studies in the US, and the review and approval of educational grants.
  • The Associate Director works with the MSL team in reviewing and analyzing field insights, supporting regional advisory boards, assessing investigator-sponsored study (ISS) requests, working with knowledge transfer (global and local) sharing needs/gaps for internal training, and reviewing custom responses to Medical Information requests.
  • Key internal partners include the Medical Affairs, clinical operations group running the studies, the Neuroscience commercial team, and global Neuroscience franchise medical personnel.
Main responsibilities
  • Contribute to and lead, when appropriate, content development and presentation for internal meeting/external medical education programs
  • In collaboration with the GMA Knowledge Transfer Associate Director[CC1] [AM2] , ensure appropriate scientific, disease and product training for the MSL team and other internal partners.
  • Review and approval of promotional and medical content for medical accuracy in materials.
  • Work with sci-comms lead to support the development of proactive and reactive field materials as needed (e.g., FAQs, medical objection handler, advisory board content) with input from field teams.
  • Contribute to the scientific publication plan in the US and design and run clinical studies in conjunction with Medical Affairs Clinical Operations group.
  • Support the planning and execution of Medical congress activities.
  • May attend 1-2 congresses to conduct scientific exchange and support congress coverage.[CC3] [AM4]
  • Support the planning and execution of national and regional advisory boards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within to provide medical/scientific expertise and marketplace insights.
  • Support the development and budget oversight of medical activities for Neuroscience.
  • Manage Travel and Expense budget in keeping with guidelines.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of U.S. staff.
Knowledge, abilities & experience Education:
  • MD, PhD or PharmD required.
Experience:
  • 2-3 years in pharma industry with relevant Medical Affairs strategy experience.
  • Experience in Neuroscience.
  • Experience in presenting and publishing scientific information a plus.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial design, biostatistics

- Ability to travel (up to 40%) & has a valid driving license
