Civil Engineer

Duration: 12-month contract

Job Description:

• Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Update and manage workforce planning tool
• Reviews and checks Civil design documents including drawings, calculations, specifications, submissions, ect. On outsourced and in-house engineering projects for conformance to CLIENT’S standards and applicable
• design criteria.
• Must demonstrate leadership in their role and have the ability to stand-in for the Group’s supervisor when required
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with internal and external groups.
• Clearly demonstrated individual and team leadership on critical projects and initiatives.
• Act as a primary interface with multiple Consulting -Engineering firms for project work that is outsourced and assure that Codes, Industry practices and CLIENT’S standards are maintained by these firms.
• Candidate must have the initiative and ability to work independently on most issues with limited supervision, as well as demonstrated ability to manage multiple issues and projects.
• Proven ability to effectively interact with internal and external groups and clearly display individual and team, leadership and critical projects and initiatives.
• Provide civil engineering support on projects from inception to completion.
  
  

Experience:

• Bachelors degree in civil engineering
• A minimum of four years of relevant engineering experience
• Experience with review of civil design documents, including drawings, calculations, specifications, submittals, etc.
• Familiar with civil engineering codes - NBC, ACI and AIS
• Strong individual initiative and ability to work independently on most technical issues

• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft office applications
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills; strong planning and organizational skills; adaptable and oriented
• As the job requires company, locations, and offsite assignments and events, must possess a valid US drivers license with a safe and satisfactory driving history
  
  

Skills:

• Engineer training certificate
• Advanced technical training
• Advanced technical or engineering degree/masters/MBA
• Experience with regulatory and licensing requirements, including environmental, zoning, planning, and construction codes
• Knowledge of StaadPRO, RISA 3D, HEC-RAS, L- Pile, SAG- 0, or similar Civil analysis and design software
