Job Description
The Tsubaki name is synonymous with excellence in quality, dependability, and customer service. U.S. Tsubaki Automotive, LLC is an international tier-one supplier of high-speed chain drive systems to the automotive industry.
The Grinding, Setup, and Operate position is responsible for running centerless grinders requiring the planning of duties to perform rough and form grind operations on various parts made of different materials to meet quality and quantity standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work from schedules, prints, specifications, and general instructions provided by the department supervisor.
- Determine operating sequence and select/mount wheels in the machine, set speeds and feeds according to material type and finish requirements.
- Dress and true up wheels as required.
- Maintain close tolerances for size and concentricity.
- Test equipment after setup to ensure conformity to quality and quantity standards, make necessary adjustments.
- Perform all quality checks as defined in the inspection standard.
- Move and handle materials to ensure continuous operation, load parts into automatic feed mechanisms, and make minor adjustments.
- Diagnose and remedy ordinary production problems.
- Provide minor maintenance for equipment, tooling, and accessories.
- Use various hand tools.
- Oil parts as necessary, weigh, count, and dispose of them according to requirements.
- Record production, time, and other data, remove sludge from magnetic separators as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining production schedules, quality control records, chain assembly records, shipping charge numbers, preventive maintenance plans, and the Kan-Ban tool control system for all tools in the department.
- Preventive maintenance schedules must be completed on time and accurately each day, week, and month.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment, follow standard safety regulations.
- Detect faulty operation or defective material and report it to the superior.
- Perform other similar and associated duties as required or directed.
- Maintain good shift-to-shift transition, communicate equipment issues and part status to the incoming operator.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0-3 years of experience running multiple machines and performing preventative maintenance.
- Safety-first mindset.
- Strong focus on Quality.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use material handling devices such as hand trucks and hydraulic lift trucks.
- Basic Computer Skills.
