The Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless flow of materials and services to support product manufacturing at US Tsubaki Automotive, LLC. This position is responsible for coordinating with suppliers to deliver parts, materials, equipment, and services on time and within production plans.
As a key member of the supply chain team, the Procurement Specialist will manage supplier releases, control inventory levels, and maintain relationships with direct supply vendors. They will also report any shortages or missed deliveries to the Materials Manager and work closely with Logistics to ensure customer needs are met.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong math skills. A Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of related experience are preferred, along with familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities:
- Manage supplier releases and coordinate delivery of parts, materials, equipment, and services
- Control inventory levels and maintain relationships with direct supply vendors
- Report any shortages or missed deliveries to the Materials Manager
- Work closely with Logistics to ensure customer needs are met
- Enter and maintain data into Excel to track supplier issues and recovery plans
- Requisition indirect materials, MRO, tool room, office supplies, etc.
- Follow up on requisitions to ensure timely approval and issuance of purchase orders
- Maintain supplier relationships and assist in sourcing new MRO suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance and take action when necessary
