What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Manager position at US Venture?
DIVISION : U.S. AutoForce POSITION SUMMARY The Inventory Control Manager will train and manage a team of Inventory Analysts responsible for executing the division’s inventory management strategy for locations throughout North America. The Inventory Control Manager will perform inventory analyst job functions comparable to direct reports and is responsible for day to day management of the team’s activities related to inventory management processes.
This position will work on-site in Appleton, WI.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Motivate and lead a high-performing team; attract, recruit and retain key talent; provide mentoring and succession planning as a cornerstone to career development.
Provides leadership through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication.
Conducts regular meetings to ensure that personnel are well informed of changes in policies and procedures.
Delegate work across team to balance workloads ensuring all analyses and inventory maintenance are completed in a timely and consistent manner
Train and mentor a team of inventory control staff
Seek to implement process improvements and efficiencies to optimize team performance
Utilize Demand Planning Software and ERP system to analyze and manage activities involved with maintaining proper inventory levels at all designated locations for assigned product lines. Fulfill all Buying responsibilities as defined on the Inventory Group Cross Training Matrix.
Manages daily activities of staff and ensures adequate inventories maintained.
Forecast future customer demand using Demand Planning Software on assigned product lines
Confer with vendors to confirm product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or product transfer
Act as a liaison between departments and analysts
Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, and inventories
Ensure that pricing on purchase orders is accurate and will match supplier invoices
Coordinate with warehouse operations to ensure efficient receipt of product
Perform other related duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Bachelors Degree in Business, a related field, or the equivalent experience
5 years of experience in product management or purchasing in a related industry
1 year of supervisory experience preferred
ASCM CPIM or CSCP Certification preferred
Excellent analytical, problem solving, process improvement, communication, and organizational abilities
Skilled in computer software demand planning applications
Able to deal with a variety of people and situations in a positive, open-minded, and results oriented manner
Effective communicator to a wide range of people at all levels of the organization
Ability to mentor, coach and develop others
Detail, results, and team oriented as well as professional under stress
Fluent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Experience with Microsoft PowerBI desired
Preferred:
ASCM CPIM or CSCP Certification
