Summary :
Directs the work of other maintenance employees. This position involves maintenance crews, sub-contractors, or specific work programs in the construction, maintenance, and repair of water, wastewater, collection and distribution systems and other facilities for U.S. Water Services Corporation. Primary emphasis is project coordination according to prescribed scope, schedule, and budget specifications.
Essential Functions :
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Plans, organizes, directs, and reviews maintenance activities of the assigned region; develops and implements goals, objectives, policies and priorities.
- Assumes responsibility for preparation and administration of the division's budget.
- Assumes responsibility for a variety of personnel actions including performing evaluation, training and disciplinary actions. Recommends the hiring and suspension of personnel.
- Provides training and development for maintenance staff.
- Maintenance of Water / Wastewater facilities, underground utilities, pipe / pipe fittings, heavy equipment, knowledge of electrical motor control, mechanics, skilled in hand power tools, experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, rehabilitation of new and existing lift stations, routine preventative maintenance.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of water and wastewater treatment plant, collection and distribution system maintenance.
- A working knowledge of supervisory and administrative practices and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and hands on maintenance, repair and trouble shooting skills.
- Determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities, based on priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
- Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
- Examine objects, systems or facilities and analyze information to determine needed installations, services or repairs.
- Conduct or arrange for worker training in safety, repair and maintenance techniques, operational procedures or equipment use.
- Must have between 3-5 years of management experience.
