**Overview:**
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our field provider team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing blood samples from patients and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. **Responsibilities:**
- Perform venipuncture and skin punctures to obtain blood samples
- Label vials accurately and record patient information
- Process specimens for testing or send out for further analysis
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow proper aseptic techniques during specimen collection
- Interact with patients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Utilize knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy during procedures
- Ensure accurate specimen collection processing
**Skills:**
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques
- Knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
- Ability to phlebotomize patients of all ages
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to obtain vital signs when needed
- Competent in specimen collection processing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
**Expectations:**
- Must be comfortable working in PRN role-meaning as needed when clients are in your area
- Proficiency in performing fingerstick blood collection (capillary puncture) with pipetting and Manual blood pressure
-Strict adherence to HIPAA/HITECH guidelines
- Commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to directed protocols
- Reliable transportation
- Computer/tablet/app savvy
** Physical Demands and Work Enviroment:**
- Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, lift and carry items up to 30 pounds
- Continually required to talk or hear and use visual acuity to operate specialized equipment, read technical information, and/or use keyboard
-Occasionally can be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Occasionally exposed to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
