JOBSUMMARY
Dispatches deliverydrivers and provides driver and customer support. Arrangesschedules for workers, equipment, and / or service vehicles for theconveyance of materials and products. Maintain communications withall interested parties throughout the delivery process to ensureand facilitate the best possible product delivery and service.Update information and systems asrequired.
This job must becarried out in compliance with all Sysco Corporation BusinessConduct and Ethics Standards, policies, and procedures as well asall Federal, State, and Local laws, including the Sarbanes-Oxley(SOX) Act of2002.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Timelydispatches drivers each morning, assuring that each driver has thecorrect invoices and all drivers depart terminalpromptly.
- Completes Absentee and TardyForms.
- Makes necessary data input into E-Timeand Achievement Based Compensation (ABC) paysystems.
- Provides driver and customer supportvia incoming phone calls to the transportationdepartment.
- Maintains Tripmaster records,driver daily record of status records (Department of Transporation(DOT) Logs), and driver Manifestrecords.
- Designates vehicles according tofactors, such as length and purpose of the trip, freight, passengerrequirements, preference of the user, or otherfactors.
- May makes route adjustments oraccommodations for deliveries, based on time of departure,destination, and expected time ofreturn.
- Direct activities of drivers, usingtwo-way radio or other communication and investigate overduevehicles.
- Possibly confer with customers toexpedite or locate missing, misrouted, or delayed routes, ordamaged merchandise.
- Retain a record ofmileage, fuel used, repairs made, and other expenses. May alsocoordinate the issue of equipment to drivers, such as hand trucks,dollies, and blankets.
- Other projects andresponsibilities, asassigned.
